Here's some background information from Don Grazzini ('76) who provided us with the recording:
"Delta Tau Baby was on a 45RPM record that I was told had been distributed at a Karnea, date unknown. I don't remember anything about the label information, I guess I should have taken a picture of it. I found it in the Fraternity file cabinet when I was VP and made an eight track recording of it. I measured out the tape and hand wound it on the platter so it was just long enough to fit the song and I recorded it on all four tracks. I din't have a functional eight track player anymore so I had a friend of mine digitize it for me. I don't know if he tried the other tracks and they were all truncated or not. I thought this jem was long lost until I came across it when I found this last stash of slides. I'm pretty sure that only a few seconds are missing. FYI old 8-tracks are no longer playable without some help. The glue on the splices has long ago dried out and gone away so they will only play till they reach the splice. If there is something that you really want to recover you have to open up the cartridge and re-tape the splice, bearing in mind that some 8-tracks were never intended to be taken apart in the first place. As obsolete technologies go this format is dead. Really, really, dead. I hope this fills in the blanks." -- Don Grazzini ('76)
